Public roads
Two of our partners, Francis and Stuart, spent their first 5-6 years in roads in local authority. Francis completed design and construction supervision of National Road road realignment and resurfacing in Wexford. Whilst there, he was involved in bituminous material technology and most notably some of the first Porous Asphalt in Ireland. He was also part of the design and supervision team of some of the first National Road Traffic Calming. Stuart specialised in Traffic Calming and Urban Renewal in Northamptonshire. During his time in private practice in England Stuart got involved in track alterations at Silverstone Racing Circuit. So he has safely designed for the fastest drivers, be they racing competitively or having to be controlled through towns and villages.
Our Engineers have wide and varied experience of road design and construction monitoring for public and private clients. Their work varies from involvement in large scale projects such as the M1 (Ireland) to the design of urban streets and the vast multitude in between. We have a keen interest in safety schemes and Francis and Stuart are both qualified Road Safety Audit Team Leaders. Associated with the Chartered Institute of Highways and Transportation CST Group are continually learning from innovative techniques in materials and their application in road construction, with the aim of constantly improving safety and economy and reducing travel times.
